Sign up with an SSN or ITIN

You sign up as a person, not a business. Your Social Security number or ITIN is what TipMe needs to confirm who you are and pay you.

All features

How it works

  1. Create your account

Enter your name, email and phone, then confirm your phone with the code we text you.

  2. Verify your identity

Enter your SSN or ITIN. Stripe, our payment partner, checks it. Sometimes Stripe also asks for a photo of your ID.

  3. Start collecting

Your first page is ready as soon as the check passes — usually the same day.

Good to know

  • No business registration, no EIN, no paperwork.
  • Your SSN or ITIN goes to Stripe for verification. Once Stripe holds it, TipMe keeps only the last four digits.
  • TipMe is available in the United States, with a US mobile number.
  • Signing up is free and there is no monthly fee.

Common questions

Can I use an ITIN instead of a Social Security number?

Yes. Either a nine-digit SSN or a nine-digit ITIN works.

Why does Stripe ask for my ID?

Stripe is required by law to confirm who is receiving payments. If your SSN or ITIN cannot be matched automatically, it asks for a photo ID to finish the check.

Does TipMe store my SSN?

It is sent to Stripe for verification. Once Stripe holds it, TipMe clears the full number and keeps only the last four digits.
