By accessing or using TipMe ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform. These Terms apply to everyone who uses TipMe, including workers who receive tips or payments for services ("Recipients") and customers who send them ("Payers").
You must be at least 18 years old to create a TipMe account. By registering, you represent that you are of legal age, have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, and are not barred from using financial services under applicable law or sanctions programs.
To receive tips or payments for services, you must create an account and complete identity verification. You agree to:
By registering, you consent to receive SMS messages from TipMe for phone number verification. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by contacting support@tipme-app.com.
By using TipMe, you acknowledge that we collect anonymous analytics data including page visits, device information, and usage patterns to improve our platform. See our Privacy Policy for details.
TipMe provides tools that let Recipients accept (a) voluntary tips and (b) payments for services (for example, a session, appointment, or other service a Recipient offers) through QR codes and payment links. TipMe is a technology and payments platform — it is not an employer, agent, or partner of any Recipient.
Payers can pay by credit and debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, U.S. bank account (ACH), Cash App Pay, Link, and other methods made available through our payment processor. TipMe acts as the merchant of record for payments made through the Platform.
TipMe charges a processing fee and/or platform commission on transactions to cover payment-processing and platform costs. Any applicable fee or customer surcharge is displayed before a payment is completed. Current fees, payout fees, and how failed payments and chargebacks are handled are described in our Fees Policy. We reserve the right to modify fees with 30 days' notice to account holders.
Tips are voluntary and, once sent, are generally non-refundable. For payments for services, refunds and cancellations are governed by the Recipient's own stated policy and by applicable law — TipMe does not set or guarantee any Recipient's refund policy.
To request a refund, contact the Recipient or email support@tipme-app.com. As merchant of record, TipMe may process approved refunds through our payment processor. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have to dispute a charge with your card issuer or bank.
Recipients can request payouts of their available balance to a linked bank account or eligible debit card. Payouts are subject to:
Payment processing and payouts on TipMe are provided by Stripe. To receive funds, each Recipient is onboarded as a Stripe connected account. Payment processing services for Recipients are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement (together, the "Stripe Services Agreement"). By onboarding as a Recipient or continuing to use TipMe to receive funds, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement, as Stripe may modify it from time to time.
Identity verification (KYC) is performed by Stripe. You authorize TipMe and Stripe to collect and verify your name, date of birth, government identification, taxpayer identification, address, and related information as required by financial regulations. Government-ID images you submit are transmitted to Stripe for verification and are not retained on TipMe servers. Card and financial-account data are handled by Stripe in a PCI-compliant environment and are not stored by TipMe.
For card payments, your acquirers are Stripe's financial-institution partners identified in Stripe's acquirer disclosure.
TipMe integrates with third-party financial service providers to process payments and facilitate bank-account linking. By using TipMe, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
Stripe: Payments, payouts, and identity verification are provided by Stripe as described in Section 8 and governed by the Stripe Services Agreement and Stripe Privacy Policy.
Plaid: To link a bank account for payouts, TipMe uses Plaid Inc. ("Plaid"). By linking your bank account, you authorize Plaid to access your bank-account information on your behalf. Your use of Plaid is subject to the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
You may revoke access granted to any third-party service provider at any time by contacting us at support@tipme-app.com. Revoking access may limit your ability to use certain features of the Platform.
Because TipMe is the merchant of record, a refund, chargeback, or card dispute is initially charged against TipMe's account, together with any associated fees. You authorize TipMe to recover those amounts from the responsible Recipient by any lawful means, including reversing or withholding transfers, debiting the Recipient's balance, offsetting against future payouts, or recovering a resulting negative balance.
You agree not to abuse the chargeback or dispute process, including initiating a chargeback for a tip or service you authorized and received. Formal card disputes are handled through Stripe's dispute process.
Recipients are solely responsible for determining, reporting, and paying any taxes on amounts they receive through TipMe. Income may be taxable whether or not a tax form is issued.
TipMe and/or Stripe may be required to file a Form 1099-K reporting your gross payment volume where applicable reporting thresholds are met (currently more than $20,000 and more than 200 transactions for the 2025 tax year and after; some states require reporting at lower thresholds). You agree to provide accurate taxpayer information, including a completed Form W-9 and Taxpayer Identification Number, upon request, and you understand that failure to do so may result in payout holds or backup withholding.
You agree not to:
You also may not use TipMe for any business or activity prohibited by our payment processor. Review Stripe's Restricted Businesses list; using TipMe for a restricted category may result in suspension or termination.
We may suspend or terminate your account, and may hold funds during an investigation, if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or prohibited activity, create risk or legal exposure for TipMe, or fail to comply with identity verification requirements. You may close your account at any time by contacting support, subject to completion of any pending transactions, obligations, or investigations.
All content, trademarks, and technology on the Platform are owned by TipMe or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as your profile photo and page text) and grant TipMe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and use that content as needed to operate and promote the Platform.
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. TipMe does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, and is not responsible for the services, conduct, or content of any Recipient or Payer.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TipMe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform. TipMe's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of the fees you paid to TipMe in the 12 months preceding the claim or USD $100.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TipMe, Hyperx Inc., and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Platform, the services you provide to Payers, the content you submit, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights. You and TipMe agree to first try to resolve any dispute informally by contacting legal@tipme-app.com. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days, it shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered under the rules of a recognized arbitration provider, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court.
This agreement to arbitrate is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. You and TipMe waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class, collective, or representative action. Disputes must be brought on an individual basis only.
30-day opt-out: You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing legal@tipme-app.com with your name and account email and the statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to the arbitration provision above, any claim not subject to arbitration shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
By using TipMe, you consent to receive agreements, disclosures, notices, and tax documents electronically, and you agree that electronic delivery has the same legal effect as a paper copy under the U.S. E-SIGN Act. You may withdraw this consent by closing your account, though doing so may prevent you from using the Platform.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
