Creating a TipMe account is completely free. Customers pay a small processing surcharge on each transaction (shown before they pay); recipients receive the full tip or service amount. No! That's the beauty of TipMe. Customers simply scan your QR code, choose an amount, and pay with their card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. No account needed.

Can I charge for services, not just tips?

Yes. Besides tip pages, you can create service pages with set prices — for example a session, class, or appointment. Customers pay the listed amount the same way they would leave a tip.

How do I get my QR code?

Once you create your account, your unique QR code is automatically generated. You can find it in the "QR Code" section of your dashboard. Print it, display it on your phone, or share it anywhere.

What payment methods can customers use?

Customers can pay with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay, Link, and U.S. bank account. We're always working on adding more options.

We use bank-level encryption for all data transmission and storage. Payments are processed through Stripe in a PCI-compliant environment, and your government ID is sent to Stripe for verification and not stored by TipMe. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.

Will I receive a tax form (1099-K)?

You may. Payments you receive can be taxable, and TipMe or our payment processor Stripe may issue a Form 1099-K when reporting thresholds are met (currently more than $20,000 and 200 transactions per year; some states require lower thresholds). You're responsible for your own taxes.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Go to Settings → Delete Account in the app or your web dashboard and confirm with your password. Withdraw any remaining balance first — deletion is blocked while funds remain.
